We are excited to inform you that the DMV is taking steps towards a gender-inclusive name.
In the first issue of the “Mitteilungen Der DMV” of 2024, the president Joachim Escher has announced a call for renaming proposals with a corresponding justification.
In the recent past, the more or less intensive discussion about the name of the DMV, which has now been going on for over 25 years, has been given new momentum. The DMV Executive Committee would like to take up and shape the discourse and has therefore decided to compile an opinion survey on the status of the discussion and to discuss possible alternatives in a participatory process. …

The proposals must be sent to dmv@wias-berlin.de until 30.06.2024. The executive committee will then select some candidate names and create an opinion poll for the members of DMV.
In our specialist group, we organise meetings to brain storm on candidate names and to come up with proposals. You are all welcome to join us in this process!
We strongly encourage you to actively participate this process! In case you are not a member of DMV yet, you might consider to join. Only the members of DMV will be able to vote on the new name.
